We are approaching the holiday season! For some of you, this brings great anticipation and excitement, while others may enter this time of year with a little more trepidation. Holidays affect people in a myriad of ways. Today we are going to focus on what we hope you will consider a fun aspect of the holiday season.
For those of you with fencing around your yard, the holiday season is a great time to use your fence as part of your decorating process. It can really take your decorating up a notch and make your home one that will turn heads as people walk or drive past it. Now we aren’t talking about “going Griswold.” If you don’t get that reference, then please stream “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” as soon as possible! However, if going crazy with your decorations is “your thing,” then, by all means, go for it!
We wanted to offer a few decorating tips. Because we install beautiful aluminum fencing (think non-rusting wrought-iron to give you a visual) our decorating tips may be more appropriate for that specific type of fencing. But, if you have wood fences, you may still be able to modify some of these ideas to work for you!
Hang Autumn Wreaths
Even though it’s not exactly sweater weather here in Brevard County, whether it feels like it or not, it’s autumn! So, pull out those Autumn/Harvest/Thanksgiving decorations. A really pretty way to liven up your fencing for this season is to take strands of fake autumn leaves and weave them through the posts. You may also want to buy or make an Autumn wreath to hang on the fence. You could even make small ones to hang intermittently.
String Lights
Once Thanksgiving is done, take down those Autumn decorations as December is associated with winter. There are many things you can do with winter decorations for your fence. You can take pretty Christmas lights and string them along your fence. Or, you can hang a lighted garland on your fence. You may even be able to hang lighted LED decorations along your fence depicting winter themes personal to you. They could be in the shape of snowmen, snowflakes, the Christmas star, or a Hanukkah menorah. Whatever you choose to do, have fun with it, and make your fencing part of your decorations this year!
