Fun Valentine’s Day Ideas for Class/Office Parties

If you have children, then many of you will have a child participating in Valentine’s Day parties in their classroom.  Even if you don’t have children, perhaps your workplace does a little party in the break room.  Or, maybe you just want to bring your co-workers a little Valentine’s Day treat!  We thought it would be nice to share some fun, creative ideas for both Valentine’s Day card exchanges and snacks.

Most stores have a section with little boxed Valentine cards this time of year.  You can actually find them for very cheap. They even sell them at Dollar Tree which means they are $1 for a box.  You may need two boxes to have enough for your child’s class size, but it’s nice to know that it won’t break the bank.

If you have the time and money and want to do a little something more than the typical mini boxed cards, we have a couple suggestions for you.  Instead of boxed cards, some stores now sell candy with to/from stickers to pass out instead of a card.  We all know that most kids love candy!  You can also buy the boxed cards and simply tape wrapped candy to the card as an extra treat.  And, some boxed cards even come with candy now!

Your child may enjoy making their own cards either by hand or on the computer.  They can say something like, “It’s nice being in “school” with you” and attach a little bag of Goldfish crackers.  Fish swim in “schools.”  Get it?  We thought so.

They can also say something like “You’re Beary sweet!” and attach a baggie of gummy bears or Teddy Grahams.  There are also different types of snacks in stores at varying times.  For instance, Honey Maid sells boxes of graham cracker snacks and Cheese Nips snacks with superhero emblems on the snacks.  So, your child could say, “You’re SUPER!” and attach a baggie of the snacks.  Another fun treat to give kids instead of candy is stickers.  They can also be themed with whatever message your child writes on the cards.

As for snacks for class parties or co-workers, there are many things you can do.  You can buy Valentine’s Day cupcakes from a store or make some yourself using pink frosting, adding red sprinkles or a red icing heart.  Red Hots are a fun little candy to throw on top of cupcakes too.  Many stores carry yogurt-covered pretzels this time of year, often white with red sprinkles on them.  They are cute and a little bit healthier than some other options.  Cutting anything into heart shapes is a winner on this day.  You can do sugar cookies or brownies or make it healthier to save the teacher’s sanity and do little sandwiches.  You could even do a red-themed bowl of trail mix with craisins, dried cherries, and red M&Ms along with nuts or granola.

Very happy with Tripod Aluminum's screen enclosure work. Despite Port Saint Lucie's extra permit needs for our 1984 home, they quickly resumed and finished the project to our great satisfaction.
