Why Pool Enclosures, Patio Enclosures, and Aluminum Fences Are Taking so Long to Install

If you have recently inquired about or scheduled the installation of a pool enclosure, patio enclosure, or aluminum fencing and found the wait time to be much longer than you anticipated, you are not alone.  We aren’t just saying that you are in good company with other customers, but also with us, Tripod Aluminum, as the contractor.

So, What Is the Issue?

This is a fair question, and we are here to answer it for you.  You may be expecting us to say “COVID” because it seems like that is the answer to everything, doesn’t it?

  • Why can’t I find toilet paper, paper towels, or disinfecting wipes? COVID.
  • Why can’t I attend my cousin’s wedding? COVID.
  • Why can’t I get the replacement parts to repair my refrigerator?
  • Why can’t everything return to normal? COVID.

You get the point!  And, to some extent, that is the answer. There are definitely delays in shipping and shortages in some materials which are causing delays in the completion of projects within our usual time frame.  We don’t know if this will remain the new normal, but we certainly hope not.  We prefer completing our projects in a timely manner as we know this keeps our customers happy, and it allows us to complete more projects within a given time period.

COVID Isn’t the Only Issue

Surprise!  COVID isn’t the only answer to the question of why pool enclosures, patio enclosures, and aluminum fencing are taking longer to have installed.  Another contributing factor to the time delay is the increase in home sales in our area.  Tripod Aluminum is located in Melbourne.  We serve our surrounding communities, such as Viera, Palm Bay, Port St. Lucie, Sebastian, and Vero Beach.

In a March 2021 article from www.floridatoday.com, Scott Miller, Senior Vice-President of Sales and Community Development at The Viera Co. stated, “[Even through the coronavirus pandemic], the market remains red-hot for single family homes in Brevard County.”  The article states that the same holds true for both new construction and existing homes, with both types selling almost as soon as they hit the market.

This increase in home sales means an increase in permits being requested, along with the necessary inspections.  As builders of pool enclosures, patio enclosures, and aluminum fences, we also require permits and inspections.  With the increase in demand due to increased home sales, we are having to wait longer to receive the required permits and inspections which causes delays in our timeline.  It is essentially a trickle-down effect.

Tripod Aluminum for Your Pool Enclosures, Patio Enclosures,  and Aluminum Fencing

Tripod Aluminum has been in business in Melbourne for almost thirty years.  We understand that delays are frustrating.  But, the fact our economy in Brevard County is still doing well in the midst of a pandemic is something for which we are thankful.  We don’t like our customers to experience any inconvenience.  Unfortunately, these delays are out of our control.  Please know that we will complete your project as quickly as possible with professionalism and courtesy!
